In March 2022, Tsubakimoto Bulk Systems Corp. (TBS) a consolidated subsidiary of Tsubakimoto Chain Co., Japan acquired additional stakes in Mahindra Tsubaki Conveyor Systems, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tsubaki Group to expand it’s material handling business in the Indian region..
Consequent to this acquisition, the company name has changed to ‘Tsubaki Conveyor Systems India Pvt. Ltd. (TCSI)’
Mahindra Tsubaki Conveyor Systems was a joint venture between Tsubakimoto Chain Co., Tsubakimoto Bulk Systems Corp. and Mahindra Engineering & Chemical Products Ltd. (MECP), a subsidiary of Mahindra Group.
Tsubaki Group has had a long-standing relationship with Mahindra Group’s MECP for over three decades. In 1989, for introduction of high performance Chain Bucket Elevators and Chain Conveyors to the Indian Cement Industry, MECP entered into a technical collaboration with Tsubakimoto Bulk Systems Corp., Japan.
Over the years, MECP established a mark for itself as supplier of quality products and gained acceptance of large number of customers. MECP also expanded the product range to add Apron Feeders, Coal Feeders, Belt Bucket Elevators, Pan Conveyors and Belt Conveyors for Cement, Power and other process industries. MECP also started Unit Handling products in association with Tsubakimoto Chain Co.
In 2010, Tsubaki Group strengthened association with MECP by equity participation from Tsubakimoto Bulk Systems Corp., Japan.
In 2011, the company set up a brand new manufacturing plant at Pirangut, near Pune to cater to increasing demand. The company also introduced complete range of Unit Handling products for Automotive and other industries.
In July-2014, Tsubaki Group acquired majority stake in the company leading to formation of JV Company, Mahindra Tsubaki Conveyor Systems Pvt. Ltd.Since then, Tsubaki has been working to expand it’s business in the Indian market, focusing on bulk handling conveyors and other unit material handling products.
